About the Role
The Fire Protection Engineer serves as a technical leader, requiring a Fire Protection Professional Engineer (PE) license and corresponding work experience. This position oversees overall design activities, project submission schedules, and is responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control duties to ensure final products meet client and company technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine design criteria for various design/build and plan/spec projects.
- Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using AutoSPRINK software.
- Coordinate design with other building trades.
- Review, comment, and approve fire protection plans and calculations of Company designers.
Requirements
- ~ 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA, government fire safety standards, and FM Global Datasheets.
- Proficient in AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office software.
Work Arrangements
This role offers flexible work arrangements, including:
- Morris, MI office: 5 days a week.
- Hybrid working: 3 days a week in Mt. Morris, MI and 2 days remotely.
