Youth Specialist

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
90-DAY REQUIREMENTS
-
Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) endorsement for basic core skills
-
Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) seminar provided by the agency, with the physical ability to apply and perform CPI techniques

American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification
-
Valid Michigan driver and chauffeur license or ability to obtain chauffeur license
RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and guide clients in a variety of daily activities, while arranging and controlling the physical surroundings in order to provide a healthy and safe environment

Recognize and manage individual treatment plans for clients with dignity and respect

Read all documented charts and/or logbooks at start of the shift and maintain documentation throughout the shift

Complete and submit all logs, reports, documentation, and assigned projects by end of shift

Participate/attend and complete all required contractual, licensing, and agency training successfully

Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law
-
Attend all required meetings

Other duties, as assigned
USUAL TIME INVOLVEMENT
Full or Part Time: This is a non-exempt position.
REPORTS TO
Youth Specialist Supervisor determined by designated shift.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of high school diploma or G.E. D.
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- A good driving record is required.
- Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work all shifts.
- A clear State background check is REQUIRED.
- Commitment of minimum of one year of employment preferred.
- This position is responsible for ensuring proper line of sight, physical supervision, daily care of youth and assuring that the child’s safety and security needs are met and maintained in accordance with policies and procedures.
