What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Superintendent (Night Shift) position at Wolverine Industries?
Reporting to the Plant Manager, will lead multiple departments, including extrusion, packaging, quality, shipping, maintenance/engineering, and die shop, driving continuous improvement.
Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 or more years plant manufacturing management or similar experience.
- Experience in the Aluminum Extrusion Market is required.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and manuals.
- High level of competency of various extrusion processes
- High level of competency on machine types including Punch Press, CNC, Precision Saws.
- Basic understanding of anodizing and painting.
TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCE
- Extensive hands-on expertise in aluminium extrusion and press operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Proven leadership in managing and mentoring teams.
- Proven experience leading teams across diverse departments, such as packaging, anodizing, and fabrication.
- Experience with automated material handling systems
- Ability to select and recommend new plant equipment.
- Should have high energy level, self-starter, a positive attitude and be able to work without direct supervision.
- A strong team player who works well with others.
- Empathy and confidence will allow the candidate to succeed in this position.
- Good time management and organizational skills are necessary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimize processes and workflows in a highly automated facility, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to maximize equipment performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork, ensuring a positive work environment.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.
SCHEDULE:
Night Shift hours. 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. 5 days a week alternating day occasionally to work with the crews on weekends.
