What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Oven Material Handler I--Nights position at Wolverine Industries?
Description
- Staging prepack material in the packing queue in a manner that coincides with the shipment schedule.
- Removing bundles of packed goods from the packing line to the shipping area.
- Remove full pre-age material racks from finish saws at the extrusion press to the pre-age queue area.
- Replace full racks with empty racks.
- Loading finished goods onto trailers/trucks assisting driver with load positions. Unloading deliveries such as supplies, logs etc.
- Manage scrap movement from presses/packing to scrap trailers, ensuring trailers are properly and safely loaded.
- Load and unload the age oven, manage the queue systems in place to ensure material is properly managed per the quality management system.
- Other duties as assigned
- Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
- Labeling every product and placing them accordingly
- Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process
- Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
- Handling returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
- Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance
- Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply
- Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to achieve forklift and crane certifications (prior forklift and side loader experience a plus).
- Manufacturing experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred.
- Must be available for nights and weekends with occasional overtime.
- Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Good communication skills

- Ability to lift, move parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work 12 hour shifts primarily standing.
