Wolverine Pipe Line Company is a transportation service company, headquartered in Portage, Michigan and incorporated in 1952. We have over 85 employees in the three states we operate in – Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. Wolverine operates 700 miles of active steel pipeline, connecting Chicago refineries to terminals in Michigan and Northwest Indiana and moving product west to east. We transport over 350,000 barrels or 14.7 million gallons of refined products a day. Wolverine also provides approximately 30% of Michigan’s daily refined products supply. We deliver the products that fuel the nation.
Wolverine does not own the product we ship. We are strictly a transport vehicle for our customers, much like UPS or FedEx is for packages. The Federal Government regulates the tariffs Wolverine charges to transport products between origins and destinations.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Working as a crew member or company representative to perform DOT pipeline and general maintenance duties on refined products pipelines rights-of-way/ pumping/ metering stations along with other duties as assigned. This position will require interface with contractors and the public.
Essential duties and responsibilities: (Not all inclusive)
- Maintenance of pipeline, pipeline equipment, the right-of-way and grounds around pipeline or other facilities.
- Professionally represent company while overseeing contractor s on various small to medium sized pipeline maintenance projects.
- Perform routine housekeeping in shop, field and other work areas.
- May perform limited carpentry and painting work.
- Launch and receive pigs.
- Assist in a variety of mechanical, technical, electrical and welding tasks as required.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and assist other team members in conducting hypothetical drills.
- Inspect fire and other safety equipment and systems to ensure that they are maintained and operational.
- Operate and maintain shop equipment and various hand tools.
- Station Operator Duties (i.e. inspect facilities and verification of measurement equipment)
- Damage Prevention Specialist Duties i.e. one call tickets
- Performs other related duties and assignments required.
- Obtain/Maintain Operator Qualifications
- Embrace and champion all safety policies and procedures according to Wolverine’s safety program and or industry standards or requirements
- Ensures strict compliance to Safe Work Practices (i.e. LPS Safety Program, Work Permits and Work Procedures)
- Regular attendance
Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- College education preferred
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record.
- CDL with hazardous endorsement
- Good computer skills - Use of Microsoft programs
- Good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

- Frequently works in a field environment
