Wolverine generates and transmits electricity to its seven member-owners to provide electric power to 268,000 member consumers located throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Wolverine employs 180 people, owns and operates 7 generation plants, nearly 200 stations and substations, and 1,600 miles of transmission line. Wolverine is Michigan's leader in new renewable energy and is poised for significant growth in the next decade.
As an I & C Technician , you will be responsible for the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of all communications and SCADA equipment, substation and generation plant controls and instrumentation equipment protective relaying, metering, and electrical equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required.
- An associate degree in electronic engineering technology or the equivalent from an accredited college or university with major studies in electrical power engineering or electronics, or knowledge, training, and experience deemed acceptable by the Cooperative is required.
- A valid Michigan driver's license is required.
- Must maintain a current first aid card and CPR card.
- Must be at an equivalent experience level of a NETA level II qualified technician, or have the education, experience, and training acceptable to the Cooperative.
- Experience with Doble, Vanguard or Omicron test equipment preferred.
- Preferred experience in the installation, testing and handling of fiber optics and related fiber communication devices.
- Must be proficient in understanding electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and digital logic diagrams.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel and must be familiar with databases.
