Position Summary
The Shipping and Administrative Coordinator I is responsible for daily scheduling, inventory, material handling of the daily Shipping and Receiving functions. Works cooperatively with the manager and other WSG employees to maintain the flow of material into and out of the shipping department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Work independently and within a team situation
- Perform within specific established procedures and / or defined instructions
- Receive and unload freight, manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Check for damaged goods; verify quantity and quality of order; verify items received with shippers / BOLs
- Recommend supplies or equipment needed for maintaining an orderly shipping department
- Prepare mailing according to post office standards; maintain and organize mailing pallets per USPS specifications
- Perform physical inventory of mailing supplies, shipping supplies; maintains inventory in established tracking method
- Deliver and retrieve supplies to and from work or storage areas
- Maintain equipment as needed
- Operate a personal computer to access and enter information into a variety of tracking applications
- Read and manipulate reports (BOL's, Shippers, Pickup Slips, Postal Paperwork)
- Work with multiple departments and update internal / external web applications; communicate updates and understand the dynamics of communication in relationships to departments and customers
- Must be flexible in work schedule to accommodate last minute jobs
- Coordinate with internal and external logistic drivers; schedule trucks to coordinate mis-directed shipments
- Maintain and monitor USPS scorecard; resolve issues within the USPS parameters

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
