What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Mother/Baby - Nights - Full-time (June 2025 Start Date) position at Woman's Hospital?
This position is for a start date in June 2025.
Woman’s Mother/Baby Unit incorporates the couplet care model to provide exceptional care to postpartum patients and their newborns. Our 84-bed unit focuses on the delivery of safe, quality-driven patient- and family-centered care that is individualized, equitable, and inclusive. Our current nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 RN to 3 couplets (6 patients).
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required
- Current licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is required
- Experience and/or certification in the area preferred, but not necessary
- June graduates are welcome to apply
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized interdisciplinary plans of care for postpartum, term, and healthy late preterm newborns.
- Utilize evidence-based best maternity and infant care practices, critical thinking, and sound judgment in the provision of patient care.
- Provide education and emotional support that is appropriate to the patient’s age, culture, condition, and unique needs/circumstances.
- Direct/coordinate nursing care in accordance with professional nursing practice standards (including, but not limited to the Louisiana Nurse Practice Act, ANA’s Nursing Scope and Standards or Practice, ANA’s Code of Ethics for Nurses, regulatory agency guidelines, and patient care standards and their associated competencies and skills).
- Seek professional development opportunities.
- Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Woman’s.

Full-time; Nights
7PM to 7AM
Pay:
$27.72 - $44.35 base pay plus any applicable shift differentials
