What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer (non-armed) - Security - Full-Time position at Woman's Hospital?
The Security Officer (non-armed) will conduct a variety of hospital security functions including security dispatch communications, security camera operations, visitor control technological programs and applications interface, fire protection program operations, and baby security programs monitoring. This position will involve technical level on-site training in support of security positions requirements. Security Officers will be expected to learn and function at a variety of stationary security positions internal to the main hospital and the adjoining Physician’s Office Building. Fulfills all additional tasks required as directed by the Security Manager, Lead Security Response Officer, and Director of Emergency Management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid LA license and excellent driving record.
- Five years of experience in military, law enforcement, or security is preferred.
- Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) active certification is preferred.
- Must have a level of writing ability to record data such as room numbers and/or names on lists.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises daily hospital security program operations.
- Reviews, investigates and evaluates security situations reported to Security in accordance with hospital - approved methods as required.
- Maintains knowledge of various department locations, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements. Works with hospital management to identify the specific security needs of each location and/or department and responds appropriately.
- Maintains knowledge of control panels, alarms, and related security equipment to provide area and visitor surveillance.
- Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.
Schedule:
Full-Time
Required to work 12 hour shifts - rotating days and nights
Pay Range:
Hourly/Non-Exempt
$14.00 – $20.00; based on work experience
