What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assessment Center Tech - Assessment Center - Days/Evenings - Full-Time or Part-time position at Womans Hospital?
The Assessment Center is the designated Emergency Department for the hospital. While functioning as a point of entry for the hospital, we treat a diverse patient population. Primarily, we support the obstetrical patient throughout all stages of their pregnancy. We assess and treat the following in our obstetrical population; labor, hypertension, diabetes, hyperemesis, preterm complications, fetal surveillance as well as early pregnancy complications. We also treat the gynecological, sexual assault, bariatric, oncology and medical/surgical patient. On occasion, we may receive patients who require a higher level of care and we will treat, stabilize and transfer as appropriate.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of healthcare experience
- Emergency room, phlebotomy and/or obstetrical experience highly preferred
- Must be able to multi-task in a high-paced environment
- Must understand and practice aseptic techniques
- Computer proficiency and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities of the Assessment Center Tech position include, but are not limited to:
- Assists nurses to maintain general patient flow in the Assessment Center.
- Provides assistance and support in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Some clinical technical procedures such as phlebotomy and specimen collection will be performed under supervision of nursing and physician staff.
- Takes and records vitals as directed or delegated and in accordance with physician orders, documented skill level, and/or Nursing Care Plan.
- Assists patients with undressing/dressing and positioning to prepare them for procedures to be completed.
- Performs unit coordinator and clerical duties as necessary including but not limited to answer calls, greeting families, cleaning/preparing rooms, etc.
- Checks and monitors supplies inventory and nourishments and restocks as necessary.
- Performs other duties assigned by Department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
Hours
Full-Time or Part-Time; Days/Evenings
Combination of 7am to 7pm and 11am to 11pm; Two to Three 12-hour shifts per week; including weekend and holiday requirements
Pay
$15.24– $21.53 base rate plus shift differentials
