What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Tech - Med-Surg/Oncology - PRN (As Needed) position at Womans Hospital?
Woman’s Med-Surg/Oncology Unit is a 36 bed unit that cares for adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs including but not limited to surgical oncology for gynecologic and breast cancers, complications of cancer therapy, surgical interventions, Bariatric, General and Plastic Surgeries, Infusion therapy and treatment of a variety of other medical and surgical conditions. Our team of doctors, specialists, surgeons, nurses, social workers, dieticians and caregivers are backed by the latest in surgical interventions, research and advanced medical treatments. Woman’s creates a compassionate, supportive, safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families and staff.
Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be enrolled in a registered nurse program at an accredited nursing school
- Must currently be participating in a clinical rotation
- Med-Surg/Oncology is currently welcoming December 2026 graduates only
Responsibilities of the Nurse Tech position include, but are not limited to:
- Effectively uses the Nursing Process in performance of a variety of patient care duties.
- Performs designated patient care skills safely, competently and independently.
- Effectively manages time, uses good judgment, and makes sound decisions.
- Communicates effectively.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Electronic Documentation: Documents care when care is rendered as applicable according to area.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
- Performs other duties as required and as applicable to specific unit.

Hours
PRN (As Needed); Minimum of one 12-hour shift every two weeks.
Pay
$14.18- $20.03; plus applicable PRN and shift differentials
$150 Employee Referral Bonus
