What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Rep-Scheduler - Patient Access - Full-Time position at Womans Hospital?
The Patient Access Rep Scheduler schedules appointments for the imaging services department creating an account number and obtaining an authorization, if applicable. Preregisters the patient at time of scheduling, entering demographic and insurance information for the purpose of billing and charting. Discuss collection of copays, deductibles and/or coinsurance utilizing the collection system. Correct any errors in the error tracking system, if applicable. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CHAM or CHAA certification preferred.
- Two years experience in patient registration and/or healthcare related scheduling department.
- Knowledge of health insurance and the revenue cycle related to hospitals is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules appointments accurately choosing appropriate exam type, ordering physician name and reason for exam.
- Preregisters patient if applicable during scheduling process.
- Enters/edits accurate patient demographics, clinical information, insurance data and edits appropriate procedure in Epic system.
- Utilizes AHIQA and fixes registration errors in a timely manner.
- Utilizes Patient Estimator software and explains to the patient his/her approximate out-of-pocket expenses. Documents conversation in appropriate fields in Epic system.
- Maintains a good production level answering calls in a timely manner. Maintains a good percentage level of patients pre-registered on clerk's assigned day.
- Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Full-Time; Monday - Friday
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Range:
Hourly/Non-Exempt
$14.00 – $20.00; based on work experience
