What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time - Physician Chaperone Assistant position at Women's Care, Inc.?
Women's Care, Inc. is a busy OB/GYN private practice is in need of a Physician Chaperone Assistant. We are seeking a part time person working 22-29 hours a week.
Chaperones are widely used for gynecological and intimate examinations. A chaperone may support the patient with reassurance and emotional support during a procedure or examination that the patient may find embarrassing or uncomfortable. Chaperones may also provide practical help to the provider during an examination or procedure. In other clinical settings the chaperone could protect the provider from physical attack.
As a silent witness, the chaperone can help the provider disprove unfounded allegations having been present during a procedure and verify continuing consent.
Chaperones could do the following duties/responsibilities:
Provide practical assistance and act as witness for provider during exams and consultations.
Support the patient with reassurance and emotional support during procedure or examination.
Assist the nurse in obtaining patient vitals.
Obtain patient’s height and weight.
Set up patient rooms for the day.
Turnover rooms after examinations and prepare room for next patient or close down at the end of the day.
Remove Specimens from exam rooms and verifies proper labeling and delivery to lab for processing.
Clean instruments, prepares for and processes in autoclave.
Assist in unpacking supplies and restocking the patient rooms as needed.
Put instruments away after processing.
Perform basic lab tests such as urine dip stick.
Assist with procedure setup and clean up.
Administer injections as certification or licensure allows.
Complete patient charting either on paper to be scanned into charts, EMR or electronically using software program.
Conforms to all HIPPA regulations for patient privacy, billing compliance and safety guidelines.
Use medical terminology to communicate with other staff and for charting documentation.
Able to use EMR and documentation as well as scheduling appointments.
Education/Experience:
Medical Training - STNA preferred
CPR and BLS preferred
