What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technician - PRN position at Women's Care, Inc.?
Women's Care, Inc. is a private owned doctor's office with a family like atmosphere. We are looking for an experienced OB/GYN Ultrasound Technician. Our ideal candidate would have completed a sonography program from an accredited institution and passed all examinations from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Understands medical terminology, has a keen eye for detail, and adheres to all ultrasound machine operation procedures. We are seeking a PRN that can work as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares the patient for ultrasound, explains the procedure, and answers any questions the patient may have.
2. Treats patients with respect, courtesy, and kindness.
3. Performs the ultrasound procedure while recognizing significance of visualized structures.
4. Informs appropriate physician of abnormal ultrasounds and correlates suggestions on further testing.
5. Documents in EMR any pertinent information for provider such as fetal weight, (SGA, LGA) fetal positions and any other issues.
6. Follows guidelines in the ultrasound procedure manual when performing:
a. OB Scan
b. GYN Scan
c. Infertility Scan
d. SIS
e. Breast Scan
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
2. OB/GYN Experience (preferred)
3. OB/GYN Registry (preferred) or looking to obtain within 1 year of hire
