With 100 locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women’s Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.
Provides professional clerical support following established standards and practices. Meets with new obstetric patients to review financial responsibility and insurance requirements. Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the Clerical Supervisor or Division Administrator.
- Meet with new obstetric patients to review financial responsibility; explain applicable benefits, co-pays co-insurance and/or deductible to patient.
- Review OB accounts prior to each visit; inform patients of outstanding balance.
- Document/update information in patient’s electronic medical record.
- Document benefits on OB Budget Agreement.
- Respond to OB insurance related questions.
- Obtain pre-certification for delivery, if needed.
- Coordination of referrals for OB and GYN patients.
- Assist physicians with obtaining Lupron for GYN patients, as needed.
- Work closely with Billing Department and Front Office Supervisor.
- Check in/check out, as needed.
- Perform reception/scheduling duties, as needed.
- Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
- Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
- Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
- Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years authorization/referral experience in medical office environment, preferably within OBGYN.
- Working knowledge of billing/insurance processes and guidelines
- Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
- Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
