What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner PRN position at Women's Center of Jacksonville?
POSITION: CONTRACT SEXUAL ASSAULT NURSE EXAMINER
JOB SUMMARY: The Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, trauma-informed care to the sexual assault survivor. The SAFE exam may include a medical-forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical/ psychological follow-up, as well as participation in legal proceedings when required. This position primarily involves performing forensic sexual assault examinations at our standalone center, as well as various hospitals/emergency rooms located in Duval, Baker and Nassau Counties. Flexibility in scheduling is essential. Must be able to physically respond to calls within 45 minutes from the time the call is received.
CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
Required
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Active Florida RN License
- Minimum two years experience as a registered nurse
- Must maintain professional liability coverage
- Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 30 days of contract
- Maintain BLS certification
- Must provide updated health screenings or obtain i.e. flu/Covid shot/waiver, TB screening, drug screening and proof of Hep B vaccine/screening
- Ability to work with survivors of sexual violence and participate in 24/7 program
- Ability to ensure compliance with standards
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- SANE-A Trained
RATE OF PAY: On Call pay $240 per day shift/$290 per night shift, $100 per sexual assault exam performed that meets requirements of OAG or $25 per sexual assault exam that does not meet OAG, $22.50/hr for chart reviews, meetings and training's
