Position Summary :
The Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk is responsible for posting transactions to journals, ledgers and other records. The AP clerk reviews invoices for accuracy and completeness, sorts documents and processes invoices for payment. Maintains records of amounts due, computes and codes expenses. Prepares checks for disbursement, reconcile the check clearing vs the bank statement; reconciles all accounts against ledger and statements. Works closely with the Senior Accountant who assigns and reviews work on a day-to-day basis.
Reports to : Controller
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist AP Specialist with receiving and recording checks and applying them in the software system.
- Assist AP Specialist with light bookkeeping, including AP and invoicing
- Compares purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
- Light bookkeeping, including AP and invoicing.
- General knowledge & understanding of accounting.
- Prepare and reconcile accounts payable aging report.
- Perform administrative tasks.
- Respond to inquiries and refer to proper sources for response as necessary.
- Other duties as required by supervisor.
