Women's Health Connecticut is seeking a Full-time, Breast Imaging Liaison for OBGYN & Midwifery of Connecticut.
Position: Medical Billing Specialist
Location: OBGYN & Midwifery of CT
Address: 388 West Center Street, Manchester, CT 06040 (with flexibility to work form the Mansfield or Colchester offices)
Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00a- 5:00p
Reports to: Practice Manager
Position Summary: The Breast Imaging Liaison will assist our screening mammography initiative to increase the numbers of screening mammography patients. The Breast Imaging Liaison will serve as the communication link between the Radiology facility and the patients. The Breast Imaging Liaison will work closely with the breast imaging quality control tech/navigator and the breast imaging supervisor to ensure that the screening patients move through our department and their appointments efficiently.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Assist and/or facilitate the risk assessment modules for screening patients.
- Assist patients, when necessary, with their retrieval of prior imaging examinations.
- Schedule patients for any follow up examinations & ABUS
- Schedule patients for screening ultrasound for Cat C or D Density, which involves placing the referral and correcting provider name, diagnosis and test being performed.
- Review schedules in advance to determine if a patient needs additional imaging, is scheduled appropriately and to reach out to patients if they are not scheduled correctly and rectify any errors.
- Obtain prior imaging facility locations so onsite staff can request images.
- Send release forms for any prior study request through Epion or in the mail.
- Understand the weight limitations for ABUS and is responsible for scheduling a handheld.
- Make sure images that were done in the office are in the patients charts. If not, in patients chart follow up with onsite staff.
- Liaison between Providers, office staff, and onsite regarding any questions or issues that arise.
- Additional tasks as needed.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Associates/Bachelors is preferred.
- At least 2 years in a healthcare setting, either hospital or outpatient based.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skill's.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize and manage patient care.
- Demonstrates effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work and function independently in a variety of settings.
- Detail oriented.
