What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Office position at Women's Healthcare Associates?
Established OB/GYN practice in Athens, Ga is currently hiring a check in/out receptionist to join our healthcare team. This position is the first person our patients have contact with either face to face or via phone. You must have a friendly upbeat personally and be a TEAM PLAYER. This position is essential in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly by scheduling appointments, greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, maintaining records, assisting patients with questions and other tasks as assigned.
· Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients to the clinic
· Checks in and checks out patients in a timely and friendly manner
· Outstanding professional phone management skills including managing a multiline telephone system efficiently and politely.
· Expedites patient processing by ensure online check in is complete and updates are done prior to patient’s appointment time
· Obtains patient identification and insurance information
· Maintains patient accounts by verifying insurance information and coordinating with other physicians’ offices or insurance companies for payment and referrals if needed
· Keeps doctor, nurses, medical assistants, and any other related staff updated on scheduling issues, patient details, and potential delays
· Protects patients’ right of confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines
· Additional task as assigned by front desk lead, office manager and providers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
