What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Accounts Specialist position at Women's Imaging Specialists?
Well-established women's medical imaging organization seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist to join our Billing and Insurance team in Foley, Alabama. Women's Imaging Specialists currently have 17 physical locations in GA and AL that provide state-of-the-art 2D / 3D diagnostic medical imaging services specializing in digital mammography, breast ultrasound, and bone density testing.
The primary responsibility of this role is to process incoming calls from patients who have questions regarding their bills. This position will be responsible to research the charges, co-pays, insurance payments, discounts, etc. in order to resolve the issue. The position interacts with other members of the department as well as other departments to get issues resolved in a timely manner. Accurate documentation of problem resolution is required. Candidate must be comfortable making outbound calls to patients to obtain current insurance or demographic information to get issues resolved.
Requirements:
- 2 years medical office experience
- 1 year medical insurance verification
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS)
- Ability to learn our scheduling and EMR software
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and multitask
- Excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
- Experience working at a high-volume call center is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
