Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Intake Coordinator to oversee and facilitate the intake process for individuals entering our residential treatment program. The Intake Coordinator will assess eligibility, conduct ASAM screenings, and coordinate admissions while ensuring compliance with DMC-ODS and facility policies. This position plays a vital role in welcoming and orienting clients to our program and ensuring a smooth transition into treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial intake screenings, ASAM assessments, and eligibility verifications for potential clients.
- Coordinate admissions, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Work collaboratively with referral sources, including healthcare providers, social services, and county agencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DMC-ODS requirements and ensure compliance with all intake policies and procedures.
- Provide clear information to clients and families about program expectations, treatment plans, and available resources.
- Maintain accurate and confidential intake records in accordance with HIPAA and facility guidelines.
- Support clients in understanding and signing consent forms, program agreements, and other required documentation.
- Assist in scheduling initial assessments and coordinating with clinical staff for treatment planning.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of intake processes.
- Handle crisis situations professionally and refer clients to appropriate support services as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be registered or certified as an SUD counselor (ASAM experience preferred) with an approved California certifying body (CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE).
- Minimum of three years of experience in SUD treatment, preferably in a DMC-ODS setting.
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria and Medi-Cal documentation requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor, with a commitment to ethical care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
