As our Development Manager, you'll be responsible for creating and executing a variety of exciting fundraising events and campaigns that engage our supporters and raise the funds that allow us to help La Plata County residents thrive. From events to donor cultivation to membership campaigns, you'll use your creativity and energy to bring in donations, build relationships with our supporters, and spread the word about our mission. You'll need to be organized, able to multitask, work independently and in a group, and be tech savvy. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan in collaboration with ED to increase revenue and achieve our organizational goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community organizations to secure gifts, sponsorships, and grants.
- Develop and implement all aspects of individual and corporate sponsorship, including but not limited to existing sponsors, outreach to potential new sponsors and recognition after each fundraiser.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to create fundraising materials and campaigns that communicate our Mission and Values to target audiences.
- Support coordination of social media platform marketing to include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. and website content.
- Develop and adhere to event timelines and oversee all fundraising event logistics, including but not limited to, permitting, facility reservations, and coordination of volunteers.
- Recruit, communicate and work with teams / participants for all fundraisers.
- Responsible for third party management of delivery vehicles, photographers, florist, catering, and transportation services to ensure seamless presentation and positive brand experience.
- Develop and maintain donor database ensuring accurate and timely recording of gifts and effective communication with donors.
- Provide regular Development Manager reports to ED and make recommendations for adjustments to the fundraising plan as necessary.
- Articulate the Mission and Vision of the organization to the community.
- Assist ED on various projects when needed and perform other assigned duties.
- Maintain records on fundraising event SOPs, activities, progress, status, and post event summary.
- Write and disseminate all press releases related to each fundraising event.
- Organize, schedule, and run all fundraising event planning meetings.
- Create a press file / report for all corporate sponsors at the conclusion of each event.
- Determine staffing needs for fundraising events. Authorize or secure additional staff as required.
- Provide billing and follow up with sponsors.

REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with proven track record of securing donations, sponsorships, and grants.
- Proficient in communicating and interacting with various stakeholders from different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of fundraising software and tools, such as donor databases, online giving platforms, and email marketing systems.
- Passion for our organization’s Mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
- Ability to adapt and cooperate with various stakeholders including staff, volunteers, and board members to meet fundraising objectives.
- Excellent marketing, writing, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to have fun, work well with a team, be creative, and achieve results.
PREFERENCES
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, or marketing.
- At least 3 years of La Plata County residence.
Salary: $26 - $28 per hour, average ~18-19 hours per week (potential for hours to increase)
