Our mission is to support women’s self-sufficiency by providing individualized services and connections to local resources. We offer a variety of programs, including community resource coaching, mental health counseling, domestic violence support, and mentorship to uplift and strengthen the lives of women in our community.
Position Summary:
The Development Coordinator is a key member of the Women's Resource Center team, supporting the Executive Director with all fundraising and development activities. The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting fundraising efforts, donor relations, and event planning to advance the organization’s mission. This role includes grant writing, managing donor databases, and coordinating campaigns to ensure sustainable funding and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Development Support:
- Work closely with the Executive Director to support all fundraising efforts, including donor stewardship, grant writing, and event coordination.
- Assist in researching potential grant opportunities and help with the preparation and submission of grant proposals.
- Maintain a database of donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations, ensuring accurate tracking of donations and fundraising progress.
- Help plan and execute fundraising events, community outreach activities, and donor appreciation initiatives.
- Prepare and distribute donor communications, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and fundraising appeals.
-Additional Administrative & Marketing duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or relevant experience in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development activities preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in CANVA, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with donor database software (experience with systems like DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, or similar) is a plus.
- Passion for the mission of the Women's Resource Center and a strong desire to contribute to the empowerment of women in the community.
Work Environment:
This position is based at the Women's Resource Center in Hickory and may occasionally require evening or weekend hours for special events and fundraising efforts.
