What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mammography Technologist position at Womens Imaging Specialists?
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Operates computer and mammography equipment for image production and documentation.
Documents patient assessment and history.
Provides patient with compassionate care and breast 'education'.
Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal images.
Enters and properly completes all risk and history information into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
Set's exam status accordingly, for interpretation by the radiologist in an accurate and timely manner.
Exhibits flexibility and adaptability to unique needs of the department and respond appropriately.
Communicate abnormal situations to proper sources in a way that facilitates resolution and / or tracking.
Actively engages other health care providers (radiologist, surgeons, specialist, sonographers) to ensure quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care.
Follows department procedures / processes / policies.
Practices safety measures in radiography by adhering to all governing regulations.
Follows universal precautions, infection control guidelines and sterile technique.
Maintains exam room and work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
Requirements
RRT Registered Radiologic Technologist with Mammography certification. ARRT (R)(M)
Must have at least one year experience as a Mammography Technologist performing screening & diagnostic exams.
Basic Knowledge of MQSA and ACR guidelines.
Basic Knowledge of mammography Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
General knowledge of policies and procedures for the delivery of healthcare services.
Basic PC (keyboarding & navigation) skills.
