Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and energetic After-School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and guiding children during after-school activities, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the overall well-being of students.
Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 2:00PM-6:00PM and 8:30AM-5:30PM on UCPS Teacher Work Day
- This position could potentially turn into a Full time Summer Position with our Summer Camp based upon performance and employee’s interest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incorporate interactive and innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology and multimedia resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to align teaching strategies with program goals.
- Plan and lead educational and recreational activities.
- Provide homework assistance and academic support.
- Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom or activity space.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
- Teaching certification or relevant licensure (if applicable).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with modern educational tools and resources.
- Must obtain North Carolina Child Care Criminal Qualifying Letter
- Present a TB Screening/Test and Health Assessment
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage groups of children effectively.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Ability to tailor lesson plans for students ages 5 years-old to 12 years-old
- Creativity in curriculum design and lesson delivery.
