What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at WonderFold?

Accounts Payable Responsibilities :

Invoice Processing : Verify and process vendor invoices, matching them to POs and receiving documents. Code to appropriate accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Payment Processing : Prepare payments (ACH, wire) per terms, maintain vendor records, reconcile statements, and resolve payment issues.
Expense Management : Process employee expense reports and assist with month-end AP closing procedures.
Commission Processing : Process and record salesperson commission reports and payments (ACH).
Vendor Relations : Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and resolve inquiries promptly.

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities :

Customer Invoicing : Verify and ensure timely invoicing per customer specifications; maintain accurate customer records.

Cash Application : Record customer payments, apply them to correct accounts, and reconcile receipts with bank deposits.

Collections : Monitor overdue accounts, contact customers for payments, document collection activities, and resolve disputes.

Credit Management : Evaluate creditworthiness and recommend adjustments to customer credit limits.

Reporting & Reconciliation : Prepare AR aging reports, reconcile AR sub-ledger to general ledger, and assist with month-end closing.

Other Duties :

Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and multi-state compliance issues as needed.

Preferred Skills :

Strong understanding of GAAP principles.

Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and financial reporting processes.

Education & Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a staff accounting role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.

Experience with ERP systems or accounting software is a plus.

Salary : $27 - $29
