The Role
Overview
Scouts field searching for signs of pest problems including but not limited to insects, diseases, weeds, and nematodes.
Here's what you'll do:
- Walks fields checking for insects, diseases, weeds, and other issues.
- Places and picks up insect traps.
- Collects soil and tissue samples for lab analysis.
- Performs other technical tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Completes daily scout reports.
- Must understand and follow Supervisor's directions and meet standards set for each of the jobs that may be assigned.
- Performs all tasks in a safe manner. Required to wear all safety gear assigned and asks for instructions when unfamiliar or lacking knowledge of proper safety procedures.

- Valid Texas Drivers License.
- Excellent planning and scheduling abilities.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Citrus experience and row crop experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend basic oral and written communication. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
