Pest Scout

Overview:

Scouts field searching for signs of pest problems including but not limited to insects, diseases, weeds, and nematodes.

Here's what you'll do:

• Walks fields checking for insects, diseases, weeds, and other issues.
• Places and picks up insect traps.
• Release biological control organisms where warranted.
• Collects soil and tissue samples for lab analysis.
• Other technical tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Completes daily scout reports on assigned fields.
• Must understand and follow Supervisor's directions and meet standards set for each of the jobs that may be assigned.
• Performs all tasks in a safe manner. Required to wear all safety gear assigned and asks for instructions when unfamiliar or lacking knowledge of proper safety procedures.

• COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption.
• Valid California Drivers License.
• Excellent planning and scheduling abilities.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Citrus experience preferred.
• Must have some skills in technology to use scouting app.
