Wonderful World of Children Preschool Center is looking for a passionate, peaceful, and dedicated preschool teacher to become a part of our supportive community! As a small, EEC licensed center, we provide quality preschool education and care for children aged 33 months to Kindergarten entrance. We pride ourselves on maintaining low student-teacher ratios of 5 to 1, allowing for individualized attention and support for each child while also reducing teacher burnout through shared responsibilities in a smaller class size.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning: *In collaboration with your co-teacher, utilize Experience Curriculum, a play-based, thematic curriculum, to enhance and personalize learning activities based on the unique needs of the children in your classroom.
- Relationship Building: *Foster respectful relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, and Co-teachers
- Classroom Management: *Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting classroom environment that supports the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of young children.
- Supervision and Safety: Observe and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety.
- Behavior Support:* Assist children in managing routines and behaviors using positive practices.
- Health and Hygiene: *Support children's personal hygiene needs, including diaper changing and hand washing.
- Team Participation*: Engage in staff meetings, center events, and professional development opportunities.
- Substitute Teaching:* Provide coverage as necessary to support teacher/child ratios during staff absences.
Qualifications:
- Certification: *Minimum EEC Preschool Teacher Certification required
- Experience: *Previous classroom experience is preferred.
- Certifications:* Must be CPR & First Aid Certified or willing to obtain certification within the first three months of employment.
- Adaptability*: Be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Reliability:* Consistent and dependable attendance is essential.
- Training: Complete StrongStart Essential Trainings 2.0 prior to the first day of work.
- Background Check: Pass a background record check in accordance with EEC policy.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on certification level and experience.
- Paid Time Off: 2 weeks of paid vacation, 13 paid holidays, & personal days
- Sick Leave: Paid sick time is provided including PFML
- Insurance Benefits: Optional AFLAC insurance benefits available.
- Work Hours:
Our center is open from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Candidate must be available to work 4 to 8 hour shifts within our operating hours
Part time option: 24 hours per week
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Full time option: 36 hours per week
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm & Tuesday, Thursday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
