As a Florist & Event Coordinator, you will work closely with our Founder and Co-Owners to support the mission of Wondry. This opportunity will help you acquire hands-on experience and skills, plus provide you with exposure to both strategy and execution aspects within the event, floral, and tourist industry. You will gain broad experience in creative floral design, event planning, marketing, client relations, and cultivation. We hope that the right candidate for this role will have the desire to transition into a full-time paid member of Wondry.

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Desire/interest to work in the event planning/florist/tourist industry
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed for events.
  • Reliable transportation for onsite work in Avondale, AZ
  • Ability to multitask and execute various projects by their deadlines
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Enthusiastic about the idea of being a part of a start-up

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a floral shop or event design is a plus, but not required
  • 1 year of restaurant experience (preferred)
  • Exceptional creativity and an eye for detail
  • Prior experience working in customer service, retail, hospitality, or administrative role
  • Wedding floral design experience/expertise

As a Florist and Event Coordinator, you will:

  • Create unique and beautiful floral designs that will wow our clients
  • Communicate and build relationships with clients through emails, phone calls, and in-person events
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and preferences, providing expert guidance and recommendations
  • Assist in the planning and execution of innovation and exquisite floral designs for weddings, special events, and corporate functions
  • Work alongside our talented designers to handle all aspects of the design process, from concept development to delivery
  • Prepare and send out price quotes, invoices, and purchase orders as needed
  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of floral products, including cleaning, conditioning, and arranging flowers and foliage
  • Manage floral inventory, ensuring the availability of flowers and materials
  • Maintain the quality of flowers through regular cleaning, prepping, and arranging. Assist with the organization and cleaning of our floral studio
  • Conducting quality checks on incoming flower shipments, reconciling damaged product logs and communicating with wholesalers to address issues
  • Deliver floral arrangements to customers
  • Support projects & tasks related to Wondry’s growth such as future venue research, promoting brand awareness, and community outreach partnerships, etc.
  • Capture content for marketing purposes
  • Assist in posting on our social media accounts and engaging with our online community
  • Provide feedback and ideas on special projects/campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with the Wondry team to consistently improve client relationships, products, and services

Schedule:

This is a part-time position with flexible hours, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Additional hours may be available to help with events and staffing our mobile flower bar. The schedule may include weekdays, weekends and holidays during peak seasons.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
