Position Summary
The Warehouse Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper storage of raw materials and finished goods, and supporting warehouse operations to optimize efficiency in a food manufacturing plant. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to food safety and warehouse management protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and material usage.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
- Track expiration dates and ensure First-In, First-Out (FIFO) and First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) inventory management practices.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to fulfill orders and replenish stock as needed.
- Prepare and stage products for shipment following company and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance protocols.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all inventory items.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Report any safety hazards, quality issues, or operational concerns to management.
