Responsibilities for the Traveling Commercial Refrigeration Start-Up Control System Technician position includes::
- Provides startups and troubleshooting for a variety of commercial refrigeration systems including refrigeration cases, rack systems, walk-in freezers/coolers and chillers.
- Performs evacuations of parallel racks after verifying pressure tests.
- Performs all EMS wiring and programming for all manufacturers of EMS systems.
- Performs full start-up of new parallel refrigeration systems and individual systems.
- Lead small projects such as single case and condenser changeouts.
- Assists with retro-commissioning of supermarkets for system performance or utility programs, EMS upgrades, leak detection upgrades, and gas conversion projects.
- Works with site foreman to assist in problematic equipment, training for junior technicians and foremen, or other areas as needed.
Requirements for the Traveling Commercial Refrigeration Start-Up Control System Technician position includes::
- High school diploma or GED is required. Coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school preferred.
- 4 - 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration; especially experience with single & parallel rack systems, refrigeration cases, walk-in freezers/coolers and chillers is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of supermarket EMS systems experience. EMS Certification preferred and proficient knowledge of EMS systems in supermarket applications for wiring and programming (CPC, Novar, Danfoss) preferred
- CO2 & Glycol refrigeration systems experience is required.
- EPA Certification & TDLR preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License is required at all times.
- Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
- Must be able to travel, work overnight, and work overtime as needed. Travel Sunday night through Friday.
- Ability to organize and prioritize your work schedule and the work schedules of others on a short-term basis

Wood Air Conditioning & Plumbing is the preferred air conditioning contractor and plumber for commercial customers. Services include ac repair, installation and maintenance, plumbing repair and installation, and performance evaluations.

Pay: Up to $44.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
