Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000

Overview: Join a high-performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology to support a nationally significant and fast-paced cryptographic key management program. This program is critical to national security and offers a dynamic and impactful work environment. We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to facilitate one large, complex agile team or several small agile teams as part of a larger Agile Release Train (ART). The selected candidate will ensure agile processes are followed, remove impediments, and foster high-performing team dynamics.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate self-organizing teams to ensure progress against Program Increment commitments.
• Protect the team from scope creep during PI execution.
• Remove impediments and coordinate with Release Train Engineers.
• Support and enforce Scrum processes and rules.
• Ensure the team understands and meets the Definition of Done.
• Coordinate with other teams on the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and communicate status to management.
• Work with Product Owners to review and prioritize features.
• Lead and facilitate SAFe ceremonies.
• Develop User Stories with Product Owners.
• Maintain and generate information radiators.
• Collect and share team metrics, and develop improvements.
• Coach teams on agile and scrum principles.
• Observe team dynamics and coach for productivity improvements.
• Create a fun, sharing, and learning environment.
• Promote teamwork to achieve sprint goals.
• Lead teams towards agile maturity.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., System Engineering, Computer Science).
• Eight (8) years experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or similar technical team.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or similar agile project management certification (PMI-ACP) is required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Experience working as a Scrum Master for a software development or similar technical team.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or similar agile project management certification (PMI‐ACP).
• Experience using agile project management tools (e.g. Jira, VersionOne, Rallye, IBM RTC).
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and time management skills are a must.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‐paced environment, across diverse systems and groups.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

• Experience working with large software systems including hardware integration and test.
• Experience working with multi‐disciplinary technical development teams.
• Experience using SAFe as the agile development methodology.
• Experience‐affecting change in organizations working towards agile adoption.
• Experience applying test automation, test‐driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment to achieve built‐in quality by  the team.
• Experience using Kanban as a means to improve flow on support teams.
