What are the responsibilities and job description for the LIFEGUARD Substitute position at Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities?
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Lifeguard substitute.
The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) coordinates services for over 1,000 people with developmental disabilities in Wood County. Our mission is to support, empower, and inspire. The Lifeguard maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Maintains a high standard of customer service.
- Enforce rules and regulations regarding safe and proper use of the Nichols Therapy Pool.
- Keep pool, pool deck and locker rooms clean to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties.
- Ensure the pool environment is set-up appropriately to match the posted pool schedule and/or special events.
- Maintain pool preventative maintenance to ensure safe swimming conditions.
- Check Pool chemicals/equipment/ water.
- Test the water in the pool itself and not water from the mechanical room.
- On weekends, document the levels of chlorine, PH, air temperature, water clarity, water temperature.
- Minimum Chlorine allowed by law - 1ppm.
- Ensure the circulating pump and the chlorine pump is functioning properly.
- Any conditions outside of normal ranges should be reported to Maintenance on-call.
- Refer to posted ranges as well as the Nichols Therapy Pool manual.
- Duties such as, but not limited to, assuming rotating shifts, working weekends, working evenings and maintaining pool grounds by removing litter and safety hazards.
- Between pool parties and at the end day: garbage removed, make sure spills are mopped up, and a quick general cleaning.
- Make sure doors are locked.
