TITLE: Intermittent Medical Assistant
CLASSIFICATION: Intermittent (as needed, should not exceed 120 days/calendar year or 1000
hours worked); FLSA Non-exempt; Unclassified
PAY RANGE: Hourly rate starts at $18.04 / hour depending on experience
WORK HOURS: Intermittent as needed during normal hours of operation Monday -
Friday
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Medical Assistant (MA) functions in a clinical and administrative support role to assist the health
care professional to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. The MA works under the
supervision and direction of licensed health care professionals. All MA duties comply with “Delegation
of Medical Tasks”; Chapter 4731-23, of the Ohio Administrative Code.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants and/or Medical Assistant
- Six (6) months experience working in an ambulatory health are setting
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (or graduate of an accredited program for Medical
- Current CPR and AED certifications. Certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License. License must be maintained throughout employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of public health laws, regulations and standards as defined by federal, state, and local
