Cardiac Rehab RN / Per Diem Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) Registered Nurses (RN) are healthcare professionals that function in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of nursing based on evidence-based principles. He/she provides physical, emotional, spiritual & psychosocial support for cardiovascular patients and families through direct patient care, patient monitoring and focused preventive and restorative patient healthcare needs under physician supervision
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform patient assessments, planning, implementation, education of patient cardiovascular disease, risk modifications and outcome evaluations
2. Manage Cardiac Rehabilitation Information, i.e. order verification, insurance verification coverage, patient scheduling, billing and charge auditing
3. Identify change in patient clinical status and initiate appropriate interventions
4. Demonstrates knowledge of exercise modalities for Cardiac Rehab patients
5. Prevention and infection control surveillance
6. Understand regulatory compliance specific to CR
7. Improving organizational performance for CR program
8. Act as patient advocate for delivery of safe care, including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities
9. Facilitates education classes and physical exercise sessions in a safe environment
10. Assists in developing, conducting and evaluating Cardiac Rehabilitation educational programs, both inpatient and outpatient.
11. Ensures safety of patients during monitored exercise sessions through health assessment, medication compliance verification, ECG interpretation and management and transfer to higher level of care as deemed necessary
12. Coordinates with patients’ care providers to give updates on patient status, significant events and obtain recommendations for care.
13. Other duties as assigned

5. Basic knowledge of nutrition, cardiac risk factor and behavioral modification strategies, counseling techniques and uses of educational programs as applied to cardiovascular rehabilitation services.
6. Medical response must be attuned to patients’ response to program or test being administered
7. Ability to read and interpret ECG tracings
8. Appropriately responds, provides or secures to medical needs in case of adverse outcome
9. Technically agile to handle and troubleshoot equipment

Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
- Current Ohio Registered Nurse license.
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred
- Two (2) years critical care experience or Cardiac Rehabilitation experience preferred
