What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor and Delivery Nurse position at Wood County Hospital?
**$12,500 Sign on Bonus Eligible**
Delivers direct/indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment; prioritization of patient’s problems and needs; and development/implementation/evaluation of a nursing plan of care. Demonstrates critical thinking in the delivery of safe, quality, age specific care. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory and accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards. Care will be provided to patients of all ages from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, and adult to geriatric, dependent on the department/unit.
Job Duties:
• Integrates best practices and demonstrates competence in the delivery of patient care.
• May serve as a resource for/practices within current standards of nursing care.
• Identifies and reports clinical and ethical issues.
• Assesses/reassesses patient’s condition based upon observation of patient and interview of patient and/or family; physician’s diagnosis and data; data obtained from patient triage; monitoring (e.g. telemetry, ventilators, EKG, fetal monitor); diagnostic results, and relevant data from other healthcare providers.

Hours: 12 hours per week
Shift: Nights / Weekend and holiday shift rotation required
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- 1 year Labor and Delivery experience required
Minimum Certification:
- Active Ohio RN Licensure
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required within 90 days
- NRP within 6 months
