The Medical Assistant is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.

The Medical Assistant is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.
Job Duties
- Assist physician or provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.
- Set-up for various procedures and assists the physician or provider in treatments such as surgical procedures, pelvic exams, and other medical modalities.
- Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
- Correctly collects and accurately labels specimens when doing venipuncture and other specimen collections.
- Gives routine injections under the direction and supervision of a provider, as appropriate with level of training and/or certification.
- Triages patient phones calls, in accordance with office policy.
Minimum Certification
- Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
