Job Duties
- Answers telephone, schedules appointments, and directs calls.
- Collects patient information and establishes patient chart. Maintains patient charts and files patient records appropriately.
- Assists staff in obtaining reports and forms from other departments and transporting specimens to the lab. Enters patient and employer data into the computer system.
- Enters charges, payments and adjustments into the computer on a regular basis.
- Sends appropriate billing forms to clients, Managed Care Organizations, and Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
- Communicates on an ongoing basis with Accounting and Patient Accounts departments.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical Office Receptionist experience preferred
- Previous Occ. Health experience preferred
