About the Role
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Patient Services (CNO) position oversees the professional nursing practice in the provision of quality nursing care delivered at Wood County Hospital and its subsidiaries. The position is responsible for the overall strategic direction and oversight of the quality of nursing practice and nursing training. Performs all functions in accordance with healthcare standards, regulatory and accreditation bodies, and company objectives and policies
Responsibilities
Reports directly to hospital President / CEO. Line responsibility for heads of all nursing departments including Perioperative Services, Medical / Surgical floors, Intensive Care, Obstetrics, Emergency Department, Quality and Infection Control, Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Respiratory Therapy / Sleep Lab, Pharmacy, Risk Management, Wound Care, Pain Management, Cardiac Rehab., Social Services, Case Management and CDI, Bariatrics, Wound Care.
Requirements
- MSN or equivalent master’s degree (such as MHA, MS Health Care, MBA)
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program
- Registered nurse in the state of Ohio by the time of hire
- 5 years’ experience in management at administrative level
- Leadership skills
- Use of theoretical concepts related to delivering nursing and patient care
- Participation in developing and implementing policies and strategies for improving patient care
- Previous CNO experience
