SUMMARY
Responsible for performing various chemical cleaning processes, including properly washing, rinsing, flushing, and preparing gas generator and turbine parts for further operations. The employee must be familiar with the cleaning procedures, customer specifications, work instructions, inspection methods, equipment techniques used to process work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position includes but is not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities.
- Understand, use, and maintain all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Use basic mechanical skills, such as hand tools, and have a high level of manual dexterity including hand-eye coordination.
- Understand and follow the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) pertaining to the part being worked on.
- Clean engine parts in accordance with instructions provided based on customer requirements and the Standard Practice Manual.
- Perform fluid checks for chemical concentration as required.
- Top off all cleaning tanks at the end of each shift with water or applicable chemical.
- Clean equipment in the department as part of preventative maintenance and to maintain a safe and clean work environment within the facility.
- Pressure testing parts as required by WGPW standards and engine manuals.
- Ability to calculate time and ratios associated with chemical concentration, strengths, and volume.
- Report all labor accurately on daily time sheet.
- Follow the procedures set by the WGP&W Employee Handbook
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Past practical mechanic experience (on the job) with another company is preferred.
- Experience with overhaul and repair maintenance manuals is preferred.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Forklift experience preferred, but not required.
- Crane and hoist experience preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to handle parts. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working with various chemicals and with tank temperatures ranging up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The employee will be required to wear the appropriate PPE (i.e. gloves, apron, safety glass, face shield).
