Medical Office Scribe - Bowling Green Clinic - Full Time
In accordance with the mission of Falcon Health Center, Wood Health Company and Women’s Care of Wood County the medical office scribe (scribe) will provide administrative and/or clinical support in a medical office setting, under the direction of the Medical Director, Administrative Director, Office Manager and Nurse Supervisor. The scribe performs all documentation functions for a provider within the clinic setting, including primary responsibility for the documentation in the patient medical health record (Electronic or paper).Working within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of Wood Health Company, Women’s Care of Wood County and Falcon Health Center, the scribe’s primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the provider in the documentation of medical care.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accurately and thoroughly document patient medical encounters as they are being performed by the provider, including but not limited to: • History, review of systems, and physical exams • Procedures and treatments • Assessments, plans, and diagnoses • Patient education • Prescriptions and instructions for follow-up care • Referrals • Maintain current knowledge and skills in clinical medical terminology • Clerical tasks such as faxing and/or phone calls as assigned • Other duties as assigned EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE • Medical Education or experience in medical setting • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Demonstrates understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to accurately document patient encounters. • Computer proficiency, accurate typing skills, and attention to detail. • Organizational skills with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient throughput. • Conduct performance of duties so as not to detract medical staff from the provision of patient care. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. • Commitment to customer service excellence. • Required Education: High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required • Preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited medical program preferred • Preferred Experience: 1 year of experience in a medical setting preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1.
