Occupational Health Medical Assistant / Occupational Health / Per Diem Under the direction of the Occupational Health Department Director, the medical assistant assists the provider with patient treatment, prepares patient for provider, and performs various clerical duties.Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for an Occupational Health Medical Assistant. Under the direction of the Occupational Health Department Director, the medical office assistant is responsible for clerical and clinical functions to assist with maintaining efficient patient flow, and assisting the Occupational Health staff, nurses and physicians to provide exceptional patient care.
Job Duties:
Assists provider with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures such as removing sutures, staples, patient history, vital signs, etc.).
Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
Preparing exam rooms.
Perform drug and alcohol tests, spirometry tests, audio tests, urine test and other testing as needed.
Order and maintain exam room supplies.
Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
Administer injections.
Maintains an office in orderly condition, including cleaning equipment or other routine cleaning.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Certification:
Graduate an accredited Medical Assistant program with certification or registry
Preferred Experience:
Previous Occ. Health experience preferred
