Urgent Care RN/LPN/MA - Falcon Health Center - FT 36 hours per week
In accordance with the mission of Wood Health Company, and within the scope of the Ohio Board of Nursing, the Urgent Care RN/LPN/MA will provide clinical and administrative support in a Urgent Care setting, under the direction of the physician, manager/coordinator, and Nursing Supervisor. The RN/LPN/MA is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) • Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing with current license to practice as an RN in the State of Ohio. • Two years previous office experience preferred. • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. • Current CPR certification. • Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior. • Demonstrates skill and abilities in clinical and administrative areas including office lab testing, patient care skills, diagnostic testing and phlebotomy in some settings. • Ability to work with limited supervision and to make decisions based on established policies and procedures. MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist physician or provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments. 2. Set-up for various procedures and assists the physician or provider in treatments such as surgical procedures, pelvic exams, and other medical modalities. 3. Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures. 4. Administers routine injections under the direction and supervision of a provider. 5. Triages patient phones calls, in accordance with urgent care policy. 5. Promptly responds to patient phone calls and concerns. 6. Telephones/faxes prescriptions under the direction of a physician or provider. 7. Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the physician or provider. 8. Obtains specimens (i.e. throat, urine, wound, etc) using proper technique and following policy and protocol for labeling. 9. Performs CLIA waived testing, EKG’s, and other testing within the scope of practice and under the supervision of a physician or provider. 10. Maintain a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing techniques and all other federal mandates, (i.e. OSHA, CLIA). 11. Maintains timely and accurate documentation. 12. Cleans equipment efficiently; performs routine maintenance. 13. Maintains continuing education units. Maintains current knowledge and skills in clinical practice. 14. Contributes in identifying methods of improving patient care. 15. Initiate and manage IV sites, medications, and fluids. 16. Assists in training and orientation of new employees. 17.
