As we embark on a new offshore brownfield engineering office based out of the Greater New Orleans area, we are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Mechanical / Piping Engineer to join our team.
The Lead Mechanical / Piping Engineer will play a lead role in managing electrical engineering efforts for our new offshore brownfield engineering office. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, along with environmental and regulatory specialists, developing and implementing electrical engineering solutions for offshore facilities.
In addition to the production of engineering deliverables (construction work packs, engineering studies, regulatory & environmental reviews, asset management plans), a key success factor for the selected candidate will be the ability to efficiently manage the flow of work to remote (workshare) offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and oversee all mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to execution and closeout.
- Develop engineering design specifications, calculations, and drawings for offshore brownfield asset retirement activities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation measures associated with decommissioning activities.
- Review and evaluate vendor proposals and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate project approvals.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP / HAZID sessions to ensure effective communication and coordination among project teams.
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
