Job Description:
A Process Field Operator is responsible for safely monitoring, maintaining, and operating all process equipment.
- Safely monitor and maintain all process equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain unit safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Perform servicing, lubrication, and minor maintenance of assigned equipment, including alarms and Process Safety Management (PSM) testing.
- Loading for process products in railcars and/or truck as required.
- Monitor unit operation and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and Company standards as they pertain to Environmental, Health and Safety.
- Start-up/Shut-down of plant equipment as necessary.
- Adjust controls to operate equipment in the recommended or prescribed operating ranges.
- De-pressurize equipment, lines, and vessels as needed for maintenance and daily operations.
- Read, monitor, and record various operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, hours of operation, fuel consumed, water levels, etc.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitored.
- Visually inspect equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
- Follow procedures at all times according to all Standard Operating Procedures and plant procedures.
- Implement and carry out Lock Out/Tag Out (LO/TO) procedures to accommodate operations' daily needs.
- Adhere to all OSHA and plant mandated HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards, evaluates changes in work environment with respect to impact on safety of self and others.
- Evaluate potential threats created by deviation from safety procedures and improper use of tools and equipment.
- Use personal protection equipment, use tools and equipment in compliance with manuals and training.
- Call attention to potential and actual hazardous conditions as they arise.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Lockout/Tag Out procedures and stop work if there are unsafe working conditions.
- Strong process improvement & safety mentality.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple simultaneous assignments.

- Mechanical Aptitude: Develops ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts and principles.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) and/or respond to callouts as necessary.

- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties, and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS SUCH AS OPENING, CREATING AND UPDATING CONTENT IN MS WORD DOCUMENTS AND EXCEL SPREADSHEETS AND USING CMMS SYSTEM FOR PLANT PM'S IS REQUIRED.
- Ability to train as board operator for relief duties.
- Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., work in adverse weather conditions.
- A minimum of a high school diploma and 2-8 years of Process Field Operator experience.
