Job Summary
The Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, disassembly, inspection, rebuild, and reassembly of vessel maintenance and repairs. This activity typically takes place onboard vessels but may also occur in the shipyard and in our shop facility.
Duties/Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Ensure vessels are running optimally through completion of planned preventative maintenance, completed and well-executed repairs, efficiently managing and completing tasks at hand, and documenting work as per company procedure.
• The position requires open-mindedness and flexibility regarding scheduling, additional tasks, and variable job functions that may be required by the Supervisor.
• Carry out, manage, and oversee the maintenance, corrective action, and task completion as assigned.
• Ensure all job duties performed are performed timely and accurately to ensure continuity of operations within the company and its related entities, as well as within clearly defined expectations.
• Maintain and update a status list of ongoing equipment repairs.
• Immediately address gaps in maintenance with Supervisors.
• Work with Supervisor on issues with spare parts, materials, and tools, and maintain the inventory of spares.
• Oversee vessel repair work both in the field and at shipyards.
• Maintain knowledge of new applicable laws and regulations that apply throughout the company and its related entities.
• Oversee vendors as needed and as per Supervisors direction.
• Deliver supplies as needed to vessels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to be on an on-call rotation to include nights/weekends and work extended hours.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Electrical experience & knowledge required.
- A minimum of 2 years of successful experience as a Mechanic is preferred.
- Possess a valid State Driver's License, and a good driving record.
- Possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.) and Passport or the ability to gain one immediately.
- A minimum of two years in the marine industry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs for extended distances.
- Ability to work in all adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and gangways up to 25 feet in height.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and work above head for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate and repair vessels in a safe manner.
