We seek a friendly and reliable Full-Time Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, handling transactions efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to a positive shopping environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering top-notch customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous service throughout their shopping experience. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues as they arise.
- Transaction Processing: Accurately process sales transactions using the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle cash and credit/debit card payments and process returns and exchanges.
- Sales Support: Assist customers in locating products, provide information on promotions and sales, and suggest additional items or accessories based on customer needs.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining store cleanliness as needed.
- Inventory Assistance: Help with inventory counts and updates and report any discrepancies or issues with stock levels to management.
- Compliance: Follow store policies and procedures for cash handling, customer transactions, and loss prevention. Ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and securely.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to create a positive and efficient work environment. Support and assist colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail/customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail in processing transactions and handling cash.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 25 pounds as needed.
