Job Description: As a Finish Wood Prep Technician, you will be responsible for preparing wood surfaces for finishing. This includes sanding to ensure the highest quality of our products. You will work closely with other team members to meet production goals and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sanding wood surfaces to prepare for finishing
- Inspecting wood surfaces for defects and making necessary repairs
- Taping off cabinet parts to protect areas from overspray and ensure clean lines
- Staging materials for finishers, including organizing and preparing wood pieces for the finishing process
- Performing additional prep work such as filling holes, smoothing rough edges, and ensuring surfaces are clean and dust-free
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
- Collaborating with team members to ensure production deadlines are met
- Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in wood finishing or a related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
