Machine Operator - WSI North

Mill Creek Lumber and Supply Company is a leading provider of lumber and building materials, serving the construction industry since 1934. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our team. As a Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production machinery, helping us meet customer demands and maintain our high standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and monitor various production machinery, such as saws, planers, routers, edge banders etc.
• Ensure machines are calibrated and adjusted correctly for each production run.
• Monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions or issues and take corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure their optimal performance.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality assurance.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Keep records of production output, machine maintenance, and any incidents or deviations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Familiarity with operating and maintaining production machinery.
• Basic understanding of lumber and building materials is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Good physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials and operate machinery.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
